Pitcher Projections

I redid the SP Projections to show the ER totals and actually shows the WHIP projections for them.  Also, as an added bonus, here are my RP projections as well!  Two for the price of one today at the Crystal Ball mall!  So, here it is, I hope it helps out!  In the coming days, you will be able to come here for positional rankings, I am debating on how exactly to distribute them, I believe I may simply give you the rankings per position and no official 1-100 ranking, but I kind of want to do that too!

Relief Pitchers – Fantasy Projections.xlsx

Please Heed the Warning :)

I know that I have mentioned this before, but I want to ensure you understand what i am telling you.  Look around at other sites to get your projection information too!  The more info you gather from trusted sources, the better off you will be.  Here are some sites that will help you get projections for players:  www.fangraphs.com (Excellent source, also gives you info from Bill James, CHONE, and Marcel all in one grouping), www.rotoauthority.com will soon have their projections listed.  Tim Dierkes is the site operator of RA, and he is still refining his projections so they will be up soon.  Don’t forget about our mlb.com projections, you can find them here.  ESPN has their projections up, go ahead and look for that at this location.  Would I expect you to do your own projections?  Nah, but can I give you a suggestion?  How about make a list of the top 15 of each position?  It doesn’t mean you have to be super exact, but it will allow you to be ready come draft time (probably should have top 45 in OF).  I will be giving you positional rankings pretty soon, they are all done…but first I want to get my final projections for Relief Pitchers finished, and I am still a little ways away from that.  Either way, keep coming back here for all your fantasy needs.  Also, take a look at this and that if you haven’t already, I am pretty proud of how close I was on contract projections for the offseason!  Not as easy as it looks…and I got the big three all correct to the yanks!  Yea me! :)   Have a great weekend mlbloggers!

Mock Draft – 10 Team League

I just completed a mock draft over at www.mockdraftcentral.com.  You can see the results here.  There was one roster spot for every position except for 5 OF, and they added a CI & MI position.  Also, there were two U so you had to be ready to jump on the offense.  14 Hitters instead of the normal 13 along with having two fewer teams.  FYI, here are my picks (From the 2nd position):
(1) Hanley Ramirez
(2) Alfonso Soriano
(3) Brandon Phillips
(4) Dustin Pedroia
(5) Alexis Rios
(6) Dan Haren
(7) Chris Davis
(8) Adam Dunn
(9) Garrett Atkins
(10) Johnny Damon
(11) Ryan Zimmerman
(12) Mike Napoli
(13) Matt Cain
(14) Javier Vasquez
(15) Zack Greinke
(16) Ted Lilly
(17) Heath Bell
(18) Mike Gonzalez
(19) Pablo Sandoval
(20) Rick Ankiel
(21) Chris Young (P from SD, not the OF from AZ)
(22) Adrian Beltre
(23) Jered Weaver

If you read my blog at all, you know I got a lot of guys that I have been clammering for you all to get as well.  I had one severe mistake with the button at MDC and that was the Brandon Phillips pick.  I wanted to draft Dustin Pedroia there (cannot believe he was still there in the 4th, I had to select him, even though it was consecutive MI).  MDC’s projections have me at 3rd place for the league.  My weaknesses: AVG, SV, and WHIP.  Like I told you before, the goal is 3rd in each position.  I made one categorical mistake with my draft, and that was overthinking my HR total.  I freaked out and drafted Adam Dunn for the homers while taking a massive hit in the average from him.  I had two hitters over .300 and two hitters under .270 (Napoli I project at .268).  Dunn is an extreme aberration at .244 and it affected me to a projected 7th place finish in the category.  I have not done enough work yet on the pitcher side so I was still going on gut with them (although Dan Haren could not not be taken in the 6th round).  I don’t mind being weak in the SV category to start, as we always say, you can get them off the wire just about anytime.  You can have my own hitter projections for my draft right here:
Mock Draft Stats.xlsx .  Let me know if you think anything is off!  By the way, I’m really thinking hard about my Adrian Beltre projection…can he hit 29?  Ugh!

OF Fantasy Projections

This was undeniably the toughest group to finish.  Here soon will be Pitching projections, and I will warn you ahead of time that they will not be as accurate as the rest of these.  Understand that no one can, with extreme accuracy, send this type of data.  I will do my best analyzing, even looking at stadium data, and will give it to you…but expect a delay before getting the next one…it will be tough.  Happy fantasying.
